  1. Now, see I wanna put pictures up to show you what we've done in the past. Maybe I'll do a post if I ever get caught up.

    2002- (M)Farm girl & (K)prize winning pig.
    2003- (M)Little girl with her (K)teddy bear
2004- I don't really remember except Coby was in a duck costume and he won a "Cutest Halloween Costume" award
    2005- (K)Batman, (C)Robin, & (M)Poison Ivy
    2006- (K)Leopard
    2007- (K)wizard, (C)Leopard, (M)a little girl
2008- A witch with her 3 black cats. I was a really powerful witch I needed more than one.
    2009- (J)Woodsman, (M)Little Red Riding Hood, (L) Wolf cub, (C)Bumblebee the Transformer, (K) Dracula

    2010 Kai has chosen a Percy Jackson & the Olympians theme (J)Poseidon, (M)Greek Goddess, (K) Percy Jackson, (C)Grover, (L)Ares, (D)The Master Bolt

I love to dress up for Halloween. It's a lot of fun. I think it adds to the boys' Halloween experience seeing me get into the spirit of things. I'm more fun and light hearted when I'm playing pretend.

  2. Thank you for doing this! I need ideas! Jarond and I always end up trying to throw something together at the last minute and I usually don't dress up. However, Jarond and I did win a costume contest when we were the old school Oompa Loompas one year (AND I was about 9 months pregnant with Eli at the time, super cute let me tell ya!) It was actually a pretty easy one to pull together too.

I'm excited to hear ideas from other people, Jarond has left it up to me this year to decide costumes and I'm kinda at a loss! I kinda lean towards the quirky/funny side when it comes to costumes too, and finding something unique can be difficult!

  3. Just a heads up for next year, I always try and buy my kids costumes on clearance after Halloween for the next year. If you wait until they go 75% off you can get some great deals. Last year I got my twins nice, plush, warm costumes at Walgreen's for 75% off. I paid between $8-$9 for both. Sometimes you can even get them for 90% off. I know Target & Walgreen's usually go as high as 90% off, Walmart only goes to 75% off. P.S. Love the blog!!

  4. Hey you! We love halloween and we love to dress up.
I always try to do themes but they don't always work out.
One year Kennidee was a princess and Dawson was a dragon
One year Jason and I were thing 1 and thing 2 (that was a big hit) I had purchased red sweatshirts for like 5 bucks and made the thing 1 and thign 2 things and sewed them on) we bought blue wigs from the BYU store for the games for the kids so we used them. It was perfect and super cheap
One year we had the kids be Jessee, woody and bullseye
We did the incredible family Mr and Mrs, Dash, violet and Jack jack
We were m&M's last year ( I just bought fleece and made big colored M&M shells for Jason and I and we wore white shirts and jeans) Great and cheap. I think it was less the 20 dollars for both
This year the kids are being Princess Tiana, a frog and then Dawson is being the Voodoo man. You can usually find costumes on Ebay for really cheap.
Last year I made my niece a snow white costume with just a tutu skirt and made my other niece a ladybug costume with a tutu skirt. They were both around 20 dollars to make
I love doing themes though and I will be sad when my kids will no longer cooperate. Next year Jason and I are being the headless bride and grooms. with the move I didn't have time to make them this year so I am planning next year. This year Jason and I are doing a repeat of our Thing one and Thing two since we moved and no one knows us. LOL
